I wrote a fragment of this song in the early days of being widowed. I found it the other day and decided to finish it. It was a good message from me then to me now – I’m not sure I always remember that there is always the option to breathe deep.
What It Is
It’s what you know, it’s what you think you know
It’s what you know you’ll never know.
It’s how you feel, it’s what you feel you feel
It’s what you fear you’ll never feel.
Fear of losing is worse than losing
And it’s the fear I’m losing now.
It’s what you think, what you think you’ll feel
So don’t believe what you think.
It’s what you dream, it’s what you dream you see
At the edge of your dreams.
And if it’s real enough to dream, it’s real enough to make you grieve
And breath will follow breath, but you can force yourself to breathe
And breathe deep.
It’s what it is, and isn’t, and isn’t yet, and now never can be
It’s making sense when your senses are shot to hell
And you tell yourself to breathe, and breathe deep
It is what it is.
It is what it is.
It is what it is.
