The sea at 17, the sea at 26. The sea. Now

They say the sea is changing. I can’t see it.
I know I must be changing. I can feel it.
But here it’s easy to forget why
Listening to that same seagull’s cry
I wait for something coming but feel it never does
Or maybe it was life that came
And that came easily enough. Too easy
